Stuck in the mud?

What better way to spend the first morning back...    splashing, sliding and squelching...

Can you guess our new topic?

Happy 6th 'school' birthday Indie

An inspirational visit...

We were lucky enough to spend the morning with Maureen, a local lady and her guide dog, AJ. She taught us all about the many ways AJ helps her in her day to day life and showed us some of her specially designed resources, including her watch, and clothing colour detector.

The children experimented with many other tools designed for the visually impaired...
dice, tape measures, dominoes, balls, handwriting pads, and a device that beeped when you reached the top of a mug when pouring drinks.

What's the time Mr Wolf?

Can you read the time to the nearest hour or half hour?

Remember, is it o'clock or half past? Where are the hands pointing?

Our journey through the woods...

Long ago, Australian aboriginal people used journey sticks to record their walkabouts. Today, 1D created their own, to mark their journey through the woods. They collected objects to represent their experiences along the way...

It is a very personal way of recording their journey and unlike a map, there is no right or wrong way. Each child going on their own unique journey.

Hmmmm....
