The children have been estimating and measuring the capacities of various containers and comparing a range of shapes and sizes.
We started by ensuring all the children understood the terms full, half full, nearly empty etc. then we moved on to measuring to the nearest labelled division (which was the nearest 100ml)
We discussed how capacity is measured in ml and litres, and that 1000ml = 1l.
Please do explore this further at home, by raiding the cupboards and fridge or when out and about at the supermarket.
